EIC Announces Finalists for Director

AMES, Iowa -- The Egg Industry Center at Iowa State University welcomes two finalists for on-campus interviews during the month of August. During their visits to Iowa State, both candidates will provide a seminar titled, "Vision for the Egg Industry Center in Shaping the Future of the Egg Industry." The public seminars will be held in the Ensminger Room of Kildee Hall (Room 1204). Chosen candidates are:

  • Mike Persia, a Virginia Tech associate professor in the Department of Animal Science with a specialty area of study in nutrition. Persia's seminar will be held Tuesday, August 20 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Richard Gates, a University of Illinois professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering with a specialty in environmental control and precision livestock farming. Gates will give his seminar on Thursday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m.

Egg industry members and university faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the seminars provided by the candidates. For additional information on either candidate, please click their name, which will access their curriculum vitae. 

Following the on-campus interview process the search committee will compile the feedback provided on the candidates. Daniel J. Robison, holder of the Endowed Dean's Chair for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University, appoints the next Director of the Egg Industry Center.
