The Center of Excellence (COE) is a two-year summer educational program that offers strong research-based poultry science education. It is unique because it combines the poultry science coursework with internships were the students gain real experience in the poultry industry. The coursework is taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and course credits transfer to the student's home university.
Important to the educational experience of the students, and potential industry employers, are the internships that exist as part of this program. Companies can host one or more students per summer. Companies are expected to compensate interns for their work and provide housing as necessary.
If you would like to inquire about hosing a COE intern in 2017, please contact Chelsea Russell for more information. This is a great opportunity to build the future of the industry and to ensure your interns are serious about their future in the poultry industry.
