Ashlyn Frederick started as the 2023 Egg Industry Center communications intern in May. Ashlyn just finished her sophomore year at Iowa State University, majoring in agricultural communications.
“This internship is an amazing opportunity for me to start making connections within the communications and commodity industries,” said Frederick. “I am looking forward to branching out and learning about an industry that I am unfamiliar with.”
Frederick will be working in creating social media content creation, event planning, and writing. “I have already learned so much about the industry, and I am excited to see what career skills this opportunity will give me for my future endeavors,” said Frederick. Her goal after graduation is to work within the communications field, and she feels this internship is already setting her up for success.
Frederick grew up on a diversified crop and livestock farm in western Iowa, which she credits for developing her passion for the agriculture industry. She has a love for the beef industry and her family. She enjoys being able to go home and help on her family’s farm on the weekends. Frederick is looking forward to gaining new experiences and promoting the egg industry while in her role at the Egg Industry Center. Please help us welcome Ashlyn to the industry.
